A Girl Scout leader for 18 years, she began volunteering so her daughters could share the same supportive, skill-building experiences she cherished as a Campfire Girl. She now inspires girls to overcome challenges, feel safe, and stay connected through high school for greater opportunities and growth.
A devoted Girl Scout volunteer since the 1979–80 membership year, she has served for 46 years and has been a cookie manager for 45 of them.
Ola’s favorite part of Girl Scouts was working with her Junior troop for 11 years, staying with them through high school as they earned their Silver and Gold Awards. She remains proud of their accomplishments, keeps in touch with many of them and their families, and even traveled from Alaska to New York to celebrate one former scout’s wedding.

Heather became a leader to help give girls the same joyful, meaningful experiences she treasured as a child with her own mom as her leader. Now leading her daughter’s troop, she's committed to supporting girls as they grow into courageous, fierce, and confident young women.
